Project Manager
We are a small but dynamic construction management consulting firm based in El Segundo, CA, specializing in aviation and large commercial construction projects. As we continue to expand ourportfolio, we are actively seeking a highly qualified Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in construction management, with a focus on aviation andlarge commercial projects.
Responsibilities:
Construction Progress Review:
- Ensure compliance with plans, schedules, and site safety regulations.
- Regularly review construction progress and address any deviations from the project plan.
Documentation Management:
- Review and manage submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders.
- Conduct thorough design plan reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Communication and Meetings:
- Conduct weekly progress meetings for both design and construction teams.
- Effectively communicate with the owner or owner's representative to provide project updates.
Problem Solving:
- Address challenges such as non-responsive vendors or contractors.
- Demonstrate a solutions-based approach to project management, actively seeking resolutionsrather than merely pointing out problems.
Value Engineering:
- Provide value engineering input to optimize project costs and enhance overall project value.
Budget Management:
- Manage cost tracking logs and budgets.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Project Controls and Scheduling:
- Demonstrate an intermediate to advanced skillset in project controls and project scheduling.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or Outbuild is highly desired.
Adaptability and Resourcefulness:
- Wear various hats as needed in our small, nimble consulting firm.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in addressing diverse project needs.
Big Picture Perspective:
- Capable of getting granular and detailed while also zooming out to analyze the big picture.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated experience with risk-based approaches and other project management frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, able to simplify complex issues for effective communication.
- A proactive and positive attitude, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates with 10+ years in constructionmanagement.
Work Location:
The successful candidate will be expected to report to the corporate office in El Segundo, CA, or at the construction jobsite, as required by the project needs.
